On Saturday September 9th, Trevor + Kristen gathered friends and family to celebrate the start of their marriage! Working alongside Nicole with Stag & Lily made this whole process and Wedding Day a breeze! Nicole introduced me and Sam to this awesome couple and after photographing their Engagement at the University of Richmond and learning about their story, we were smitten with these two.
They’re hilarious and genuine and totally in love. Trevor had tears during their first look. There were mountains for miles and miles. The chilled air had guests dancing with blankets and warm coffee mugs (and a few wigs!!!) out on the dance floor. It was a fantastic Wedding Day!
This gorgeous mountain wedding officially kicked off our own Fall Wedding Season and we couldn’t be more excited that pumpkin flavored everything is back on the shelves and that College Football is back on TV.
(By “we” I mean Sam. I edited this blog post INSIDE under a blanket, with a heating pad, wearing fuzzy socks and a jacket …I am not adjusting well to this brisk weather haha!)
This First Look was really a sweet one. Before we left the Bridal Suite, Kristen’s bridesmaids helped her put on finishing touches. Even her super sweet Hair + Makeup girls from Lou Steven’s Glam Squad joined in and cheered good luck as she walked out the door.
Kristen looked flawless as she glided up to her soon to be husband. She touched his shoulder and he turned around to face her.
Kristen + Trevor met while working for Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad! Trevor happened to hop into the passenger’s seat of the ambulance that Kristen was driving one night. I can only guess, but I’m pretty sure that you can really see a person’s true colors in that unpredictable setting.
Not long after, Kristen spotted Trevor on the couch watching TV alone at the station. She walked right up to him and sat down. Kristen says she had the easiest, real first conversation with Trevor that night.
When Trevor proposed, he wanted to do something special for Kristen. He took her to see her favorite band, Guster play at The National with the hopes of getting down on one knee outside after the show. Trevor re-evaluated his plan when he saw the rain.
A friend who joined them for the concert asked to come inside for a second, while Trevor called one of their Australian shepherds to come into the room. While Kristen was occupied greeting her pup, Trevor got down on one knee and totally surprised her while the friend snapped a few pictures!!
When guests arrived to the Wintergreen Resort, they were shuttled to this incredible overlook where the ceremony was held. This overlook was such a great spot for a ceremony!
A few of Trevor + Kristen’s buddies from the Volunteer Rescue Squad wore CRAZY wigs to surprise Trevor as he walked down the aisle. Their friends knew that the couple would think that it was hilarious! (Just wait until you see all SEVEN of them together at the cocktail hour!)
They’re married!!
Favorite!!
Guests were shuttled back to a Cocktail hour and Reception back at the resort’s main area where they had boozy drinks, corn hole and blankets waiting for them.
There are two types of firefighters. Those who are shirtless with chiseled abs on calendars and those who wear wigs to weddings. Kinda love both!!
During the special dances, a special slideshow was played for each dance filled with funny and sweet memories pertaining to whoever was on the dance floor. Guests laughed, aww-ed and dabbed at tears while seeing these old pictures of each of them growing up and then more recent images of the couple together when they first started dating.
The Best Man even used a slideshow to give his speech – all were funny and embarrassing images of the Groom!
The rest of the evening was spent going wild on the dance floor eating Nightingale Ice Cream sandwiches and getting down to BowTied Weddings DJ who kept the crowd on their feet despite the cold temperatures in the mountains! It was a celebration to remember forever!
Trevor + Kristen,
You guys are the sweetest couple and we are so happy that our paths crossed! There were so many parts of your wedding day that reflected you guys as a couple in all the best ways and we feel so honored to have shared it with you! You both have hearts that ACT to serve others before yourselves and your needs, and we think that’s really darn cool. Our favorite moment of your Wedding Day was when the 4 of us drove out to another overlook for your first sunset as Husband and Wife because of how happy and relaxed you were together. It’s the kind of love that lasts forever.
Cheers to a million more sunsets together and moments like this! We love you guys!
Love,
The Tuckers
