Last Saturday took us around the world to Portugal and China…right inside Virginia! June has been a beautiful whirlwind, between being a part of a total of SIX weddings and launching our NEW website! Sam really outdid himself on making this our best online home yet and we are happy you’re here!

Michelle + Andrew were the perfect June finale! We first met these two at their James Madison University Engagement Session.

It is always so cool for us to see which images clients choose as their new profile pictures from their Engagement gallery. Andrew chose one that perfectly describes their relationship in one picture. He is climbing the James Madison statue like a koala and Michelle is on the other side laughing.

They are just fun people and Andrew loves to make Michelle laugh!

Michelle had her mom and Andrew’s mom join the pre-wedding fun, which was really sweet in their matching robes!

Her girls helped her put on the finishing touches including her mother’s very own wedding veil.

Michelle, you are a vision of bridal elegance!!

The boys got ready a floor above, all donning watches that Andrew gave them as gifts. Andrew repped JMU on his cuff-links.

This wedding day was a dream start to finish thanks to Kelley Cannon Events! Behind the scenes, there is so much unmentioned magic that makes for a seamless wedding day. Kelley has been a step above the rest to work with!   

Andrew and Michelle’s First Look was really sweet! Andrew wrapped Michelle in a big hug and didn’t want to let go, even despite the June heat!   

Their story | First sitting next to each other at JMU’s Freshman Orientation, Michelle felt the chemistry right away.

It took Andrew until their ACTUAL chemistry classes to get the hint, but when he finally did they became inseparable. They made a lot of mutual friends who joined them on this fun day. From the balcony, their friends cheered and held up their drinks to us in the field after the four of us snuck out for a few glowy, sunset portraits.            Look at that sweet little smile kiss!!! Reppin’ JMU as they exit as Husband + Wife! 

Since the newlyweds took 90% of their portraits and family formal portraits pre-ceremony, they were able to join their guests at cocktail hour in this Portugal-like setting. Through an old-fashioned microphone, Voss Weddings sang classics by Frank Sinatra. Romance in Portugal…checking travel flights now!

If that didn’t wow guests enough, the NiceCream booth scooped up the rest with their dry ice technique. 

The newlyweds were introduced into the Reception, escorted between two Chinese Lions who performed incredible stunts to honor the Bride and Groom. As members of the troupe themselves, this performance was full of martial arts, as well as thrilling live music on Drums, gongs and cymbals.  

Adding a little extra Chinese flare to the day, Michelle changed into a more traditional Chinese dress to dance the night away in. Andrew swapped his light teal bowtie for a red one to match his new wife.

Sam and I knew with all these JMU Dukes that it would be a fun dance floor. You guys are hilarious to photograph!
