During a series of hilarious toasts, Andrew + Kate’s backstory came out. Bridal Party members joked that neither of them seemed excited about being set up by their friends. But once they actually met each other, they were inseparable!! Sometimes when you trust your friends, they introduce you to the love of your life!
We’ve known Andrew and his identical twin brother Alex since our high-school days! Both are super sweet guys and they’re both with the greatest girls!! When we finally met Kate at their Engagement Session, we immediately loved her!
Kate’s gift to her Bridesmaids were their getting ready outfits. Adorable silk tunics with matching slippers!
The two dated long distance for quite some time while Kate was in Buffalo, NY for graduate school. Over the course of the next 2 years, Andrew would brave what Kate claims to be “horrible Buffalo snow” to spend weekends with her!
In front of both of their families, Andrew proposed to Kate where they shared one of their first dates at Dumbarton Oaks in Georgetown, Washington D.C.
Snowy Buffalo visits lead them to a bright and toasty Friday Wedding in Apex, North Carolina at The Oaks at Salem! The day was spent with their closest 100 friends and family, and let me tell you – it was an AMAZING Wedding Day! From start to finish, this day was just so full of loving moments.
This family LOVES each other and they show it.
Happy tears shed throughout the early afternoon from letters, from excitement, and just the overall rush of emotions Wedding mornings bring! Kate’s squad of BFFs were always there to hand her a tissue, make her laugh about her tipsy singing skills, and be her support while she prepared to become a wife. Hugs from Mom soothe the rest.
Jaw on the floor from Expressions of Love Florist ! These pops of vibrant colors were so pretty!!
Dad was so eager to see his little girl! He kept asking when he could come in and see her, but a Bride has a lot of details to put on! To add to the emotion, Kate was moving across the country to California with Andrew just days after the Wedding. Understandably, this family wanted to savor every moment of this day together.
When Kate was finally ready for her First Look with her Dad, it was such a great moment! Smiling and gushing “YOU ARE GORGEOUS! You are so gorgeous.” Over and over again!
We wholeheartedly agree, Dad! Kate, you are stunning!
Kate’s parents took a moment to pray for her. Then Kate and her Dad looked in the mirror to see how they should hold each other while they walked down the aisle. They stood like that for a long time just soaking in the moment and chatting.
Then Kate’s Nana came in and Kate had a BIG surprise to show her!
Not only did Kate have a piece of her Mother’s dress sewn into her gown, but also a piece of her Nana’s Wedding Dress.
It was then that Kate’s Mom told her about HER surprise that she planned for Kate’s bouquet.
Hidden until this moment, Kate’s Mom explained that her late Grandfather’s tie was wrapped around her bouquet.
Kate immediately broke into tears and worries that she’d damage it, but Mom explained that he would want her to have it.
Meanwhile, the guys had a much more light-hearted kind of morning!
Andrew + Alex are identical twins. In Alex’s Best Man speech, he joked that he was excited to once again wear matching outfits! Haha!!
Something you have to know about this group of guys is that their level of bro-love reaches new levels every time they all get together. Sam and I were in YoungLife and high-school with a handful of them (back when they were known as the “Liberty Studs” and even had Facebook fan page!!! Haha!!) and we love how HILARIOUS they get when they’re all together. They feed off of each other’s energy like crazy!
Exhibit A: When Andrew and his groomsman Cody faked Sam out like they were going to kiss…and then were like GOTCHA!!
Exhibit B: The romantic swing shots
A long path around the edge of the pond lead guests to the ceremony spot, which overlooked the Manor house and Reception space. It was a beautiful venue! The string quartet added additional elegance to the scene.
Fluffing his future sis-in-law’s dress and cleaning away mulch pieces from it at the altar! So sweet!!
Married!!
The newlyweds were introduced back to their friends and family after pictures to a BEAUTIFUL Reception space overlooking the water! The string quartet was playing, string lights and dozens of candles had been lit, and the mix between vintage rentals and gorgeous floral design was a sight to remember!
Andrew’s passion project has been fixing up this old-school Voltzwagon Bus that they turned into a Photobooth for guests!
Exhibit C with the Groomsmen :
Perfectly celebrating Memorial Day, Andrew flying high reppin’ USA with his socks!
Andrew + Kate,
Was this not the best day ever?! I have SO many great things to say about the both of you and about the beautiful day you two planned. What a testimony to your love for God, each other, and your families. Something so special about this day was that we were able to go slow and be present in every moment to really savor time. Your relationship is already so kind and so loving – I can’t wait to see your marriage pull you two even closer together! We love you both and will always remember this day!
Love,
The Tuckers
