Shawn + Molly are MARRIED! The best part about growing up in a small country town is that everyone knows everyone, generation after generation. It’s the same warm community that these newlyweds grew up in.
Their Grandmas worked together in the hospital for 25 years and were good friends. Shawn’s Dad and Molly’s Mom were classmates. They had family members go to the same church and become lifelong friends.
Shoot, get this: Molly’s Dad’s name is Michael Shawn…and Shawn’s name is Shawn Michael – it is even the same spelling!!
With the community connecting them, you’d be surprised to know that they didn’t meet until a few years ago at a friend’s birthday…but it didn’t click until they found each other again on Tinder a year later!!
We’ve been the lucky photographers invited into their wonderful community of friends and family for the last year and it’s extremely bittersweet for us that it’s over!
I’m super excited to blog her BEAUTIFUL Bridal Portraits soon, but for now here are a few favorites from their Rehearsal Dinner + perfect Wedding Day at Red August Farm in Waynesboro, Virginia.
The Shoe Game is such a fun Rehearsal Dinner activity! Using each other’s shoes, they vote on various funny, marriage-related questions!
On Saturday, October 5th, 2019 a true southern belle married her country boy. The Fall air was finally crisp and the surrounding mountain views were clearer than ever!
One of the things I love most about Molly (besides the fact that her heart is so kind and loving) is that she’s a GREAT gift-giver! Every gift she gave to her parents, her bridesmaids, her family-friend coordinator, and her Husband to be – every gift was given with thoughtful intention and beautiful presentation.
Of course I said YES when Molly asked to recreate their Homecoming on the stairs tradition!!
The boys spent a lot of their downtime hanging out at the farm at Red August, while their adorable chocolate lab Cocoa had free rein to run wherever she pleased!
What makes a great Wedding day even better? The Hokies winning 🙂
Molly’s Grand Reveals with her Bridesmaid and with her Dad were both really sweet!!
She gifted her Dad a tie with a picture of the two of them printed on the inside!! Such a great idea!
Then it was time for her First Look with Shawn!
Molly + Shawn gave us the perfect amount of portrait time so we could get to all the beautiful spots around Red August!!
I can’t even begin to tell you how stunning of a Bride Molly was!!! I’m super excited to blog her Bridal Portraits we did here in Richmond next!!
SO. MANY. FAVORITES!!!
Especially this one of Cocoa running towards them!!
They had always wanted to go visit Fort Lewis Lodge in Bath County, VA. It’s this gorgeous getaway on 3300 acres of farmland surrounded by mountains and secluded countryside. Shawn took Molly to dinner at the Lodge and then proposed to her down by the river!
Their families were overjoyed!! This marriage was a long time coming!
Molly secured one of her mother’s own wedding earrings to her bouquet!
This friend group was the best!!
Their Ceremony was just beautiful overlooking the countryside and mountains!
There was a moment of quiet whispers when Molly + her Dad didn’t immediately follow the Bridesmaids walking down the aisle…
Just then a few honks of a car horn could be heard as Molly + her Dad pulled around to the top of the aisle in her late Grandfather’s 1955 Chevrolet.
Molly, her Dad + her Grandma surprised everyone with this entrance!!!
Molly’s Grandmother was more than happy to snap a few pictures with her late Husband’s car – how cute is she?!
He had completely restored this car inside and out! It was a really special detail for Molly to include.
Speaking of cool cars, guests were continually wowed throughout the evening with interactive trailers. The Rosy Co. Photobooth brought guests inside the vintage trailer for print-on-the-spot photos!
Then guests could warm up with the couple’s signature Apple Cider Mimosa at The Get Cozy Vintage Mobile Bar.
The couple enjoyed Cocktail Hour and then guests slowly made their way to the Reception upstairs in the barn.
These ultra high ceilings lined with string lights and chandeliers really did take your breath away!
The dance floor was never empty when Everyday People was playing! They were SO good!!
Whenever a guest splits their pants, you know you chose a good band!
Shawn + Molly,
Okay, was this weekend INCREDIBLE or what?! Thank you both so much for inviting us into your lives at such a special time! The love you have for each other is so evident in every image – especially Shawn since I know you don’t love taking pictures. However, you always do it because you LOVE your wife! Keep putting each other first and absolutely keep doing whatever you’re doing with Cocoa, because she’s perfect!! 🙂 Haha!! But in all seriousness, you two have the best community to grow your marriage in! We are honored to be amongst them in your corner to cheer on your Marriage!! We love you guys!!! Please give Cocoa a hug for us, too! 🙂 HAPPY HONEYMOONIN’!!
Love,
The Tuckers
