Last Saturday, Katie + Jason gathered their friends and family down in the countryside of Allegheny, Virginia at the Farm at Glen Haven. Katie and her Bridesmaids got ready down the road at Oakdale Manor where the light just poured through these big windows!

Katie was perfection in her Wedding dress!! The more you looked at her dress, the more detail you noticed and loved!!

Grand Reveals with the Bridesmaids and Dad before her First Look with Jason were all such sweet moments!!

Jason and the boys got ready at the Farm and shared a shot (or two!) of their favorite whiskey.

How they Met:

Still can’t get over that these two met in MIDDLE SCHOOL. Jason asked Katie to the 8th grade dance, and Katie, trying to turn him down as gently as possible, she said she would go “as friends”…. then they ended up not going together at all! (A teasing point that was brought up in several speeches later that night!!)

Their paths crossed again at Virginia Tech during their sophomore year and this time was much different! They quickly realized they had lots of shared interests – some including hiking, traveling and eating pizza together! After they moved in together, they adopted the third member of their little fam – Bodie, a german shepherd mix!

Their First Look was so giggly and adorable!! They couldn’t stop smiling!!

They were genuinely just so excited to see each other!! We found a quiet spot under a tree where they could have a few moments to take it all in.

Katie is naturally already such a stunning girl, and this day as a Bride, it was unreal how beautiful she looked!!

She’s a trooper too, because even though this was a super sunny day, these were taken when it was about 35 degrees!!

HOW. GREAT. IS. THIS?! Such a fun group of friends!!

How He Asked:

Jason surprised Katie with a trip to ICELAND(!!!) as a Christmas gift. Katie was so excited that she got to be the one to plan their entire trip, which was the best gift EVER she said!

Jason made her wait until day 3 of the trip, even though Katie knew a proposal was coming at some point that week. He proposed in front of Seljalandsfoss waterfall (easily one of Iceland’s most epic and beautiful spots!) away from tourists. It was a fantastic trip filled with hiking, horseback riding and showing off the ring!

They each had handwritten vows for each other that were incredibly heartfelt and funny at the same time!

It was a beautiful setting at the sun set over the mountains!!

Their joy is contagious!! Can’t you feel it?!

Their venue was really cool because guests could lean over and look down from a second level!

They had a fun little surprise planned for their First Dance! It started slow and then the music switched! They busted out some funny choreographed moves and then the bridal party rushed the dance floor to share the rest of the song together!

The newlyweds had set up a s’mores bar just outside the barn and a photobooth, but their guests’ favorite activity was picking a donut off of their Donut Wall!!

One of my favorite things about photographing Weddings is seeing how it truly does bring two families together. I looked over and saw both of their Moms, arm in arm like this just chatting and watching their kids dance!

Of course we were extra excited when Enter Sandman started playing and this group of Hokies stormed the dance floor!!

LET’S GO….HOKIES!!!

You’re MARRIED! The best part is…this is just the beginning! You guys + Bodie have so much joy ahead of you as you continue to build your lives together!! Your relationship with each other is like hallmark movie-worthy cute! It’s truly evident that you guys are a team deeply-rooted in love. We could not be happier for you!! We’re also excited that Jason finally got to take you to the dance 🙂 We adore you both! Have the best HONEYMOON!!
