Cody + Charlotte planned a relaxing and intimate Sunday Wedding this past Memorial Day Weekend in Tappahannock, Virginia.

As we walked into Cody’s childhood home, his Dad and their little dog were sprawled out on the couch taking a Sunday nap, while a sports channel was on in the background. (Such a Dad-move.)

Charlotte and her girls were hanging out upstairs and the boys were tucked away at the neighbors house next door.

Charlotte rewrote her vows at the kitchen table (because she accidentally left the final copy somewhere else!), while both Moms were decorating the cake in the kitchen and instructing boys to move flower pots around the backyard. Everyone was relaxed and happy!

Cody + Charlotte met through a friend at Virginia Tech. #GoHokies !

When Cody proposed, he kept leading Charlotte down fake rabbit holes since he knew she was expecting him to propose in the near future. Completely by accident, he did tell her one true fact – that when he did propose, it would be snowing.

To catch her by surprise, Cody ended up proposing to Charlotte at 7:00am one morning before she went to work. She was all bundled up and had her arms full of preschool books! It ended up snowing that morning even though Cody didn’t even mean to plan his proposal around the weather!

Together they have a super adorable yellow lab mix named Ruby who was with us for their Engagement Session!

This is the face of a Groom who was just gifted a Bridal Boudoir book!!!

If you followed along on our Instagram story (@Petietucker) then you saw us move an entire kitchen around to mimic a Bridal suite! Thank goodness this crew trusted our crazy idea because this 5-panel window light AND extra space to move around was so worth it!!!

Their Ceremony was in a shady spot under some big trees overlooking the Rappahannock River. Charlotte was teary-eyed the whole ceremony! 

Such a great group of people!!

The forecast called for thunderstorms as soon as the Ceremony ended, so we ran down to the docks and beach to do as many portraits as possible while we still could!

The storm clouds kept getting darker by the minute, but rain didn’t fall until everyone was dancing at the reception! It was a miracle!!! 

Guests started to run for cover as the rain started…but not before a quick Irish Car Bomb!

Cody + Charlotte,

You guys are so perfect together! As sweaty and sticky as we got throughout the day, you two never wanted to let go of each other! This day was such a beautiful reflection of how laid back and fun-loving you two are! We feel so honored to have spent this exciting season with you both, especially fellow HOKIES! Cheers to Newlywed life, cold beers shared on the front porch, and time spent with the ones you love! We adore you both!!!
