Christopher + Kelci | Wedding in Catlett, Virginia

May 26, 2017

I’m still KICKING myself for forgetting to wear my cowgirl boots because this past Saturday’s wedding took us back into the DEEP country of Virginia.

Kelci + Christopher got hitched in their very own slice of the world – a pretty little slice that you can only reach by a 10-minute tractor ride I might add!!! If you followed along with our Instagram story (@Petietucker) you could see that we were loving riding in that “Country Limo” with the bridesmaids.

Pictured below was our “Country Limo” escorting guests past the 60+ acre fields and into the forest towards the private ceremony site.

Here’s the coolest part – not long ago, Kelci’s Dad was inspired to build a Log Cabin of his own. When Christopher proposed to Kelci at Christmas, the two proposed the idea to her parents that they say their vows at this secret escape.

Good Lord, how neat is that? Her Dad probably had no idea that at the time he was chopping wood, that he was actually shaping the scene for his only daughter’s wedding.

Adorned with flowers and hanging lanterns, the cabin was the perfect intimate setting that just over 30 guests got to experience.

There were virtually no distractions as Kelci walked through the trees with her Dad. There was no music other than the occasional song bird or the wind brushing the intertwined tree branches together.

This patch of land whispered its untouched beauty really allowing everyone to experience the organic happiness that this day brought.

Our two favorite ceremony moments we put in black and white.

The first is our newlyweds sharing an unposed kiss as they walk into the woods after their I Do’s.

The second is a few minutes afterwards when we started family formal portraits, Kelci started hugging her Granddad who stood with me and Sam as we took pictures because he was too excited to sit during the ceremony.

What we love about Christopher + Kelci’s relationship is that they are able to be 100% uninhibited around each other as well as their friends and families. They are silly like best friends. They are uninhibited and authentic. No frills or fuss. Kelci is a firecracker and perfectly sarcastic, but she’s also sweet and BFFs with her mom who was her Matron of Honor.

Christopher compliments her with lightheartedness and southern charm. He and his groomsmen were raised to say “Yes ma’am, no ma’am” and politely gave the ladies a hand as they stepped on and off the “Southern Limo.”

As we finished Bride + Groom portraits, we asked Chris if he wanted to carry his new bride back to the tractor to catch a ride back with the Bridal Party. He laughed and flung her over his shoulder. (Sorry about that, Kelci!!! haha!) She got him good at the cake cutting though. 🙂

Christopher + Kelci,

Thank you so much for letting us share this special day with you both. What a treat for us to spend the day celebrating with your closest friends and family! You two spark when you’re near each other and you set such a vivid example that marriage is fun and wild. Have THE best honeymoon in VEGAS! We love you guys!
