From the moment we heard David’s plan about how he was going to propose to Erin, we were in love with this couple!! He told Erin he wanted to celebrate their 3rd anniversary of dating, which was the perfect cover for David to go all out on planning an entire day for Erin without her being suspicious that he might propose.
David’s Proposal was an absolutely beautiful and creative one with all the best details including a Mrs. Box to hold one of the prettiest Engagement rings we’ve ever seen!
In a mini recap, David sent Erin to the spa (where she got her FIRST massage, nails and makeup done!!) and then he arranged an Uber to pick her up and drop her off at Maymont Park. When she arrived she was lead to a trail of white roses, rose petals, and notes that ACTUALLY swiped RIGHT to play off of the fact that they met on Tinder.
The last rose lead Erin to a bridge near a waterfall where a SUPER smiley David walked out to meet her and get down on one knee!!
As soon as Sam and I walked into the Bridal Suite, the girls were like YES the photographers are here, can we give you our gift now?!! You could tell they were so excited and eager to give Erin this gift!! I’m SO thankful they waited because this was such a thoughtful gift and I’m glad we got pictures of this moment!
The girls presented Erin with a beautiful wooden and wicker box that held handwritten notes and cards from each of the Bridesmaids, both Erin + David’s Moms, and even one from David!!!
This was such a great morning! The girls popped champagne off of the balcony and we had a really un-rushed morning where Erin even had time to make and assemble ALL of the bouquets herself with flowers from another farm!
Absolutely LOVED Erin in this dress!! Especially the straps that braided in the front and pieced apart down her back. She also had blues and golds in her accessories and invitations that were so pretty to photograph together!
Across the hall, David and his Groomsmen got ready. All of the guys were hanging out and watching soccer (first day of the World Cup!) on TV while David put on a very special detail.
David’s Grandfather always wore an Orient watch and when he passed away last year, David went out and bought the same watch to wear on his Wedding Day. He even had his Grandfather’s initials engraved on it.
David had a really sweet First Look with his Mom and helped his Dad tie his bowtie. David and his Dad were the only two to rock bowties. It was really special to see all the ways David + Erin included family members in these small details to make each of them feel loved.
When it was time for the Ceremony, the guys all walked down the hill from the Barn to the shady spot under a big tree by the pond. David remained facing away until it was time for Erin to start her descend down the hill with her Dad.
Look at the parents! Throughout the entire ceremony, all of the parents and grandparents held hands or on to each other.
On their Wedding Day, David’s parents planted a tree that they kept in their house until it grew so tall that it had to be moved outside! Such a great visual of planting and growing deep roots together.
Erin did such a gorgeous job putting these bouquets together!! The pinks and yellows really popped against the soft blue-gray dresses!!
Erin, good Lord. You’re just absolutely beautiful!!
The owners of the Barn at Edgewood were so amazing! They told us about a new spot just a quick off-road drive into the next field where you can be surrounded by a big mountain range, which we never would have known about if they hadn’t been so kind to let us in on their secret spot!!
These images below are some of our absolute FAVORITES in that spot! The sunset over the mountains was so beautiful.
David + Erin met on Tinder and in their words, “It was love at first swipe!”
Erin was a sophomore at the University of South Carolina studying Art Education and David was a Crew Chief in the Air Force when they swiped right on each other. Their first date was spent walking around the river and talking all night about their favorite memes and TV shows! They hugged goodbye and the very next morning David left for a deployment in the Middle East.
They continued to talk when they could throughout his deployment; Erin always playfully teasing him as to why he didn’t kiss her that night when dropped her off after such a great first date! Their connection was special and deepened as the months passed.
Six months later when David stepped off the plane back in the states, he wrapped Erin in a big kiss.
Guests loved the indoor/outdoor Cocktail Hour and Reception! You could easily go between the indoor and outdoor space. The indoor dance floor had guests dancing under string lights with props and glow sticks stolen from the Photobooth, while others enjoyed being in the countryside watching the sunset with a cold beer.
David + Erin,
We just love you guys! We love your story. We love your families. We love your love!! You two are kind beyond words and joyful beyond belief. Those two things alone made it an honor and pleasure to serve you all day, every step of the way. We’ve been giddy about pressing “Publish” on this blog post, because we have so many new favorites and we love the thought of you two sharing a moment on your epic ICELANDIC Honeymoon, reliving these moments. Cheers and felicitaciones!! Estar casado con tu mejor amigo es uno de los mejores regalos de la vida. ¡Los amamos a los dos!
(Google translate told me that should read: “Being married to your best friend is one of life’s greatest gifts. We love you both!”)
🙂
Love,
