Last Saturday Alex + Kevin invited their guests to celebrate the start of their marriage at the Pope-Leighey House in Alexandria, Virginia.
Easily one of our most bubbly and loving couples, it’s no surprise that OVER 400 people were in attendance for their special day! Their day started with a traditional Vietnamese Tea Ceremony in the early morning and ended with a huge tent filled with loved ones dancing the night away.
Tender Grand Reveals with Dad and a very happy First Look with Kevin 🙂
This veil by Ally Kay Designs was AMAZING!! It was so lightweight that it caught the wind perfectly and had the most beautiful detailing!!
Alex + Kevin are also high school sweethearts! They met in Orchestra class; she played the violin while he played the viola. It wasn’t long until they were completely head over heels for each other. After high school they both attended Virginia Tech!!
Together they are total foodies, love working out (Alex is a Soul Cycle QUEEN!!) and some of the funniest and most thoughtful couples!! They even brought US water during their Engagement Session — AND they mailed us a Home Depot How-To manual right after we bought our house this year!!
Speaking of their Engagement Session, this picture below will always be one of my favorites!! 🙂
These two gorgeous Newlyweds got engaged in PARIS two summers ago right by the Medici Fountain!!
Alex said that sometimes she discretely gives Kevin a little tap or pinch on the butt to get him to smile for pictures…when she felt the ring box in his back pocket! He proposed right then!
Alex, you are GORGEOUS!!!!
They’re Married!!!
Everything was absolutely beautiful! Cocktail hour was spread out in the side courtyard with string lights and a second large tent with beautiful chandeliers and drapery.
One of Alex’s bridesmaids (and a November 2019 Bride of ours!!!) MADE THIS FLOWER WALL!! Guests loved using it as a gorgeous backdrop for pictures and selfies!!
Alex was celebrating extra hard because she just recently became a DOCTOR in the Dentistry field! 🙂 In Kevin’s vows, he promised to floss more!
We snuck out during Dinner to take a few sunset portraits since the light was absolutely perfect around 8pm!!
Summer Weddings seem to have the longest window of “golden hour light” of all the seasons, giving them that perfect glow at sunset!
These two are always up for anything and are SO MUCH FUN!!!
By this time, Alex had long since kicked her Jimmy Choo heels off and walked around barefoot!
Guests were treated to a pretzel bar, an ice cream bar and some tables even came with Cognac bottles for special out of town friends. Guests had flown in from all over the world for this beautiful day!
There are usually a few vendors who REALLY stand out to us each year for exceptional high quality and service. Design Cuisine and their catering staff was easily one of the most talented, organized and friendly businesses we have worked with over the course of our 5 years of shooting Weddings!
Alex + Kevin,
You guys are absolutely incredible!! ! I have loved spending time with you guys and laughing our butts off whenever we are around you!! It’s so easy to love you both with your super big (and as Vickie said, boujee) hearts!!! Seeing you and Kevin really let loose jumping in the air and swinging each other around was the exact level of fun I want for every couple to experience on their Wedding Day!! You two are a dream team and we love you both so much!! Can’t wait to see you again this year for another Wedding!!! <3 Have the BEST HONEYMOON!!!
Love,
