FAMILY FARM & CROCKETT PARK | WARRENTON, VIRGINIA
There are definitely couples that Sam and I make “long term bets” about (like they do in How I Met Your Mother!) on whether or not they will get married, so we were SOO giddy and excited to hear that high school sweethearts, Samantha + Cody were engaged!!! Eeeee!! Love is in the Spring air!
“The first time I saw Samantha was at Relay for Life, but I didn’t meet her until 6months later at a YoungLife hangout. The first time I knew I loved her was when I realized how much she meant to me. I realized I was giving up the last sip of soda and waking up early to take care of the dogs so she could get her “beauty sleep.” I didn’t mind that at all even in the slightest bit because I knew I was making her happy. She made me the person I am today, which she never intended to do. She never asked me to change. I changed myself because I knew if I wanted to be with her forever, I knew I needed to be what she deserved.”
During our morning session as we walked towards the barn, Samantha said she had baby ducks….which immediately I HAD to see! I am so happy we went over there because look at what little ring models they are!!! Ahh so fuzzy and smiley!
These two are definitely Dog-people!!! They each brought their own pup along to play (and they definitely loved to play!!) How cute is that baby’s breath wreath?!
“As friends, we would go through stages where we would talk and then not talk. We babysat together on Valentine’s Day and I really thought he was going to ask me out, but he didn’t and I started dating someone else. Cody found out the day before the Gold Cup Races, where we were both volunteering with YoungLife to park cars. On the way to the event, we passed each other and he saw me and quickly turned around to go home. Seeing him turn around struck a chord with me that I wanted to be with Cody. We rekindled that day twirling parking flags, going to the movies, and getting accidentally locked out of our parent’s houses. A few weeks later we were dating.
Cody once told me to ‘make memories of the past and hope for the future,’ which I have lived by ever since. We have nothing but amazing memories together and I have nothing but the highest hopes for our future. I can’t live without his sense of humor. We keep each other happy and in good spirits. Sometimes life sucks and you gotta find the bright side and humor in what you can. We both share that same mentality and I think that will allow us to live a long, happy life together.”
The most solid relationships blossom from those starting as friendships. It is as if one day you realize those friendly hugs goodbye start to linger. Once you realize what you have in your arms, you can’t let go!
Samantha + Cody you guys are a joy to be around and we CANNOT wait for your wedding day! We love you both so much!!
Love,
The Tuckers
