Dan + Brianna are MARRIED!! We love these two and their incredibly sweet story! They gathered their friends and family at The Retreat at Eastwood in Warrenton, Virginia for their beautiful Garden Wedding.

Every corner of The Retreat at Eastwood is photogenic! Their Ceremony took place amongst these beautiful gardens followed by dinner and dancing with their favorite people!

The Hutchisons are near and dear to our hearts. Sam grew up with them at his home church where they all still attend!

Quality time is something they make a priority! They’re REALLY into running 5ks and often plan them as a family activity! The first time Brianna brought Dan home to meet everyone, they ran a 5k! The MORNING of their Wedding, they RAN A 5k!!! Even t-shirts were made and all guests were invited to join!

When I asked who won, they said it wasn’t really a “race,” but more so about being together!

Grand Reveal with the Bridesmaids and Dad were such sweet moments!

How they met:

Dan + Brianna met at Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!!!) during their Freshman Year at an RUF Bible study. Not long after becoming friends, they started running and working out together. For a few weeks, they’d go to the gym and then hangout for hours even after the workout was over! Shortly after, they went on their first official date! (Here’s three of our favorites from their Engagement Session at Virginia Tech while it was STORMING!)

Their whole Wedding day had little infusions of who they are as a couple between quotes from Friends + the Office, serving a healthy organic meal to their guests, and serving late night popsicles to guests after sparklers!

One day early in their relationship, Brianna posted a picture on Facebook of her and Dan. Brianna’s Dad noticed Dan’s last name and thought,

“Well how many Cutler’s can there actually be?”

Turns out that Dan’s Dad and Brianna’s Dad WERE FLAT MATES at Virginia Tech back in the day!!!! And now their kids were in love.

They had two wonderful officiants who Sam and I have known and loved for years, too! Andy Wood was leading RUF during our time at Virginia Tech as well as the Bible Study where Dan + Brianna met! Robert Amsler also spoke a few wonderful words. Rob was Brianna’s (and Sam’s) pastor growing up!

Loved these flowers!! Brianna’s bouquet was full of fluffy peonies and so pretty!

How He Asked:

Dan was interning in Northern Virginia for the summer, which Brianna loved because that meant he could live nearby and hang out! One night they went to dinner at Claire’s in Warrenton (Brianna’s favorite restaurant, which we agree is excellent). After dinner, they went back to the apartment Dan was staying at for the summer. As soon as they walked through the door, Dan proposed!

“It was perfect and lovely, and anyone who knows me knows that I would not have loved a Proposal where anyone else was around (haha). Then we came back to my house to tell my Mom and sister since we had already called his family and my other sister. Dan had carefully planned it so that my Dad (who travels a lot) would be around, but he had a delayed flight so we ended up FaceTiming him on the plane!”

The Reception was wonderful! Though, some slept through it 🙂

It was such a fun Wedding to photograph because Sam and I got to have a mini reunion with so many people WE love, too!!

I swear, Haley + Sam (a 2018 couple of ours, pictured on the bottom left) are friends with ALL of our Wedding couples and we frequently see them tearing up a dance floor!!

Another really fun part of this Wedding was that Sam’s parents were guests!!! Isn’t my Mother-in-Law just the cutest little cutie pie you’ve ever seen?!

What a perfect day to start your Marriage!! Thank you so much for inviting us into such a fun season of your lives! Remember when we did your Engagement Session during that CRAZY storm, and instead of rescheduling you said, “We’re up for it if you are!?” You guys had such a grounded calmness even when those Blacksburg winds were trying to knock you over!! Andy + Rob are so right – a Marriage that runs towards God is one that can stand strong in every season that is to come. We are so excited to see how Marriage draws you even closer together as teammates, as best friends and as NEWLYWEDS!! Congratulations, friends!!! We love you!!
