Sunday could not have been a more beautiful day for Ross + Caitey’s Wedding!! As soon as we met this couple, we fell in love with them! They’re unbelievably funny, generous and humble.

Caitlin “Caitey” is probably the most organized, most laid back, and most thoughtful Bride of our 2019 season!!

If you know Caitey, then you know how crafty and resourceful she is!! She pieced together greenery and flowers just about every floral arrangement! She also used a wood burner to make every guest a Christmas ornament with outline of the state of Virginia on one side and their table number on the other!

Everyone was so excited that the day was finally here!! Caitey even took a minute to practice her hand-written vows with her Bridesmaids!

I loved how important it was to Caitey to honor her late father in law, too. Caitey + Ross managed to find his long lost wristwatch to include in their details.

The boys got ready next door in the Groom’s Cottage which is FULL of beautiful window light and has plenty of space for the guys to lounge!

Caitey gifted Ross these beautiful cufflinks with the coordinates of The Mill at Fine Creek!!

Grand Reveal with Bridesmaids + Dad were both super sweet!! I loved seeing so many familiar faces within the Bridesmaids from Alex’s wedding earlier in the year!!

Dad shed a few happy tears when he saw Caitlin for the first time!! He loves her so much!! He said he wanted to collect every leaf that was getting caught in her dress to put in a scrapbook!

I love sentimental Dads!! He even had a patch sewn into his vest that was a picture of the two of them and her Wedding date stitched in!!

Ross + Caitey’s First Look with each other was one of the happiest we’ve ever witnessed!! You can see below – these two could not stop smiling!!

Ross just kept saying, “Oh my gosh this is awesome! Oh my gosh, you look so beautiful! This is just so awesome!!”

How they Met:

These two met on OkCupid nearly five years ago after they had both moved back to DC! Their first date lasted nearly 4 hours long and the most vivid memory they have of that date was talking about what vegetables were the coolest looking to grow. Haha! After three years together in DC, these loving dog parents moved back to Virginia so their puppy child Bailey could have a bigger yard to run. Their first trip out of town together just so happened to be Richmond, VA!

For both of them, they knew this was something special pretty much right away! They both had a love for traveling and took MANY international and stateside trips together — many bets were made (and lost!) amongst their families and friends during each trip as to WHEN the proposal would finally happen!

These two are just so easy to love!! Ross wanted to help as much as he could with Caitey’s dress! The delicate fabric loved to collect leaves!!

Ross gifted each of his Groomsmen with a customized cufflink tailored to each of their interests!

Caitey, is such a thoughtful friend!! One of her must have photos was one she wasn’t even IN the photo for. She wanted one of her Bridesmaids to have a few maternity images taken with her husband. How sweet is that?!

How He Asked:

The Proposal FINALLY happened in 2018 during one of their international trips to ITALY!

Caitey was a little suspicious when he purposely chose to go through a different TSA line than her. Ross had a plan to propose overlooking the Mediterranean at sunset and then go to their dinner reservation. But Caitey was worried they were going to miss their reservation and accidentally messed up his big plan!!

Caitey was also suspicious when Ross ended up ordering TWO bottles of wine at dinner, seemingly in a very celebratory mood! Ross rolled with the change of plans and lead Caitey to a beautiful cliff’s edge after dinner and proposed!

She said yes.

The two were married inside the ruins of the Mill. Both had prepared beautiful handwritten vows to read aloud to each other!

They cut the cake, but Caitey made sure Ross knew she had a cheesecake hidden in the back for him since he prefers that over cake!!

The rest of the night was spent dancing the night away to 90s hits and visiting with their favorite people!

We especially loved these two moments: When Caitey got down on the ground with her ring bearer and flower girl who preferred to army crawl instead of dance! And then also when we saw Caitey’s Dad grab Ross’ Mom for a dance!

Absolutely loved hugging Kevin + Alex, whose Wedding we photographed back in June of this year!!

We are just totally smitten with you guys. I know you hate having all eyes on you, but it’s been such an honor to celebrate the two of you!! It cracks me up that you keep joking how you guys must be so hard to photograph…and the ONLY reason that rings true is because I can’t get you guys to look away from each other or from having your own giggle fits!! Both of which are highly photogenic characteristics of your love. You just light up around each other! Your totally-lovable-nerdy-joy that you two share is the real deal. We absolutely love you both and can’t wait to cheer for your Marriage for all the years to come! Wishing you guys the BEST HONEYMOON! 🙂
